Word acrobat with a passion for nature

For 14 years I’ve been a jack-of-all-trades in the media and communication world with extensive experience as a journalist, writer, editor, translator, photographer, PR-specialist, layouter and designer.

Working and playing with text and language has always been a way of life for me, particularly the challenges found where cultures interconnect. As a German-American, I’ve grown up bilingually. Living for extended periods of time on both sides of the Atlantic has not only honed my expertise in each language but also allowed me to gain insight and understanding of the cultural nuances in both countries - an invaluable asset for a translator. My special interest, grounded in my training as a horticulturist and subsequent study of ecology and environmental education, is the world of plants and gardens as well as environmental issues.

For seven years I lived in Florida and became an expert in the state’s natural history with all its exotic flora and fauna, while also writing extensively about eco-tourism. This was followed by a five-year stint in Freiburg, Germany, where I also gained experience working as a PR-specialist in addition to my freelance business. In May 2012, the "other side" was calling again and I changed shores across the Atlantic once more. I now call New Hampshire, USA, my home where I enjoy spending my days writing, translating and living close to nature.
